Credit Cards have many advantages for consumers, but if the interest rate is high, you will be paying monthly charges on the balances. Some companies require a monthly or yearly fee for just having the card. You have to be careful when selecting A Credit card for purchase. If you want rewards, you have to find the cards that offer cash back, frequent flyer miles or discounts at participating retailers. Before accepting any card, you should know exactly what they offer.
You may notice on your credit report that Credit Card Companies are checking your Credit History, but you never applied to them. This is done on a regular basis. Letters for Credit cards are sent in the mail informing you that you have been pre-approved for a card and what the credit limit will be on the card. The letter will say that you just have to submit a few more details before they can send you the credit card.
If you have sufficient income, you probably will receive a card in the mail with terms of agreement. If you do not look at the small writing, you can be in for some surprises when you use the card. Make sure you know the interest rate and if there are any fees associated with the credit cards. Just because a company gives you a card does not mean you can afford it.
You have to look at your monthly income to decide if you can afford another credit card or if you even need a credit card. Overextending yourself with credit cards can affect your credit when you need a loan. Even if you do not use the card, it is considered a debt because you can use it any time. May sure you need the credit cards before accepting them.

All 3 Credit Reporting Agencies will provide 1 free credit report by law. In fact, I would be hesitant to provide the information online to any website other than transunion, equifax, or trw. Only go directly to the source for this.
As the 1st poster indicated, the following website is a portal to the 3 agencies and you can get all 3 reports. Also as he indicated, you cannot get your Credit Scores for free (they charge you a nominal fee for that), but the Credit Reports are free.
