Any Credit Reporting Service That Is Worthwhile?

You are constantly seeing advertisements online about credit reporting services and how you can get your report and you sometimes wonder if there are any such services that are worthwhile and why you would need to use them.

You know that you are entitled to one Free Credit Report every year from each of the Credit Reporting Agencies, so you might not see the sense in using a service.

"… First of all, many of these reporting companies are worthwhile, even though you can get a once yearly report free from Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. The report that you get from the reporting agencies will not have your score on them, just the information that has been reported to them by your creditors…"

The reporting service will give your beacon scores along with all information in your report. They will also come in handy if you are trying to Improve Your Credit, as you will want to check your reports more often than once a year. Also, if there is some incorrect information added to your file, you don't want to go a year with it being held against you.

The reporting agencies also are a good way to protect yourself against identity theft. For only a nominal fee each month, you could save yourself untold money by being able to check your report anytime you want to. Now you need to pick a Credit Reporting Agency to work for you.

"… Go to the internet and pick a company that looks as if it might be a good match for you. You may want to contact the Better Business Bureau to check them out and find if they have had any complaints against them…" P. de la Torre added.

After satisfying any questions you have, go ahead and sign up with the company. Many offer a free trial period, and by the end of this period, you will know if this company is right for you. If so, stay with them, for the nominal fee is well worth protecting your credit.

Doctor bill paid, but still on credit report?

I had A doctor bill that was in collection. Paid MCB collection service in full. Months later still on Report .I have True Credit Report service, But This is only item I cant dispute through their site. Appears on all reports. Any help will Be vastly appricated!

Some agencies only report account changes quarterly and some monthly. so it may take time to show up as paid.

You will have to contact MCB and request that they update your credit files. You could dispute the entries with the 3 CRA's but you would have to do it individually. You could send each of them copies of any receipts you have showing that the debt was paid. If you do write anybody, send it certified/return receipt mail.

This item will remain on your reports but will no longer be listed as a derogatory entry. It will show as being paid and will improve your score a little bit.
